Today is day seven of social distancing for us. It’s been challenging, but also a much-needed reset. We’re enjoying these longer spring days and relishing in simple pleasures (gardening, afternoon naps, sitting on our porch with nowhere to go + nothing to do, and simple dinners by candlelight).
Last week we started prepping our outdoor garden space and started some seeds indoors, and it’s been such a wonderful respite from the craziness of the world right now. My husband built raised beds in our backyard, and I’m so happy with how they turned out (photos to come). We also started seeds indoors for the first time, and it’s been amazing to watch them germinate and sprout with nothing other than water and sunlight. Magic.
In addition to gardening and doing #allthethings outside, I’ve also been:
Scouring the internet for the perfect homemade “dutch oven” bread recipe. I think this one is pretty perfect.
Watching this new series. Spoiler alert: I’m obsessed.
Searching for a new “goes with everything” jumpsuit. This one is perfection.
Following along with photographer Jamie Beck and her #isolationcreation series on Instagram.
Listening to U2 on repeat. This album has my heart.
Planning a post-COVID-19 getaway. This remote (domestic) island retreat is my idea of heaven.
Stay well, friends. (Air) hugs to you all.
